چکیده

There is today a growing need to accurately model the angular scattering response of metasurfaces for optical analog processing applications. However, current metasurface modeling techniques are not well suited such task since they limited small spectrum transformations, as shall be demonstrated. The goal this work overcome limitation by improving accuracy these and, specifically, provide better description metasurfaces. This achieved extending methods, which restricted dipolar responses and weak spatially dispersive effects, so include quadrupolar higher-order components. newly derived multipolar demonstrated predicting dielectric placed in vacuum. results that substantially than standard model.

Helmholtz Pulse Propagation & Spatially-Dispersive Light

We present the first detailed account of modelling pulses in Helmholtz-type nonlinear systems with both temporal and spatial dispersion. Exact analytical solitons will be reported, and their stability examined through mathematical analysis and computer simulations. © 2010 Optical Society of America OCIS codes: (190.5530) Pulse propagation and temporal solitons; (190.4400) Nonlinear optics, mate...

All-dielectric KTiOPO4 metasurfaces based on multipolar resonances in the terahertz region.

We employ ferroelectrics to study the multipolar scattering in all-dielectric metasurfaces based on KTiOPO4 (KTP) micro-disks for efficient manipulation of electromagnetic waves in the THz spectral region (0.6-1.5 THz). By adjusting the aspect ratio of the disks near the multipolar resonances, we show that the KTP disk array can form a multifunctional metasurface that covers the entire range of...

Vector Circuit Theory for Spatially Dispersive Uniaxial Magneto - Dielectric Slabs

We present a general dyadic vector circuit formalism, applicable for uniaxial magneto-dielectric slabs, with strong spatial dispersion explicitly taken into account. This formalism extends the vector circuit theory, previously introduced only for isotropic and chiral slabs. Here we assume that the problem geometry imposes strong spatial dispersion only in the plane, parallel to the slab interfa...

Electromagnetic Energy Momentum Tensor in a Spatially Dispersive Medium

As interest in photonic crystals and metamaterials expands, it is becoming increasingly clear that these materials often exhibit strong spatial dispersion. Understanding spatial dispersion and its consequences is essential to understanding these materials. It has long been known that temporal dispersion alters the expression for the electromagnetic energy density of a material. Similarly, it is...

Meg ( Magnetoencephalography ) Multipolar Modeling of Distributed Sources Using Multiple Signal

We describe the use of truncated multipolar expansions for producing dynamic images of cortical neural activation from measurements of the magnetoencephalogram. We use a signal-subspace method to find the locations of a set of multipolar sources, each of which represents a region of activity in the cerebral cortex. Our method builds up an estimate of the sources in a recursive manner, i.e. we f...
